The ability to design custom pieces.

There is thousands of chess variants out there, and there are thousands of unique pieces. So why not satisfy everyone by having an option to create custom pieces like chess craft? Maybe implement it by having a + sign next to fairy pieces and allow us to create a piece from betza notation and allow us to upload a custom photo as a texture.

As much as we'd like to, the custom photo would likely be abused (yes, we could ban players who put things like a hate group's flag as piece textures, but it's still an unnecessary hassle); as for just the basic idea though, that is an interesting idea, albeit one that the developers will likely not focus on as a priority even if chess.com decides to implement it.

I hate that any ability you give people on the web can almost be guaranteed to be abused by at least a few people. Just sucks.

It is a really cool idea though, @ericyancovid

We have plenty of variants, there are some ones which is not popular because there are not any players who play.

Why don't we make pre-made designs for pieces? Like ChessCraft does.

Capablanca chess may have an untrustworthy origin. The idea appears to come from the eighth book of Carrera’s Il Gioco degli Scachi, but the game in the book looks like a mistake if Carrera himself should have invented it. According to chess history, he was a leading theorist of the time the book was published (1617), and therefore must have known about the flaws in the given configuration but must not have sufficiently cared that these flaws existed. He was also a Catholic priest and probably did not want to make such an error.
