2009 contains some big anniversaries for classical music:

Handel: 250th anniversary of death

Haydn: 200th anniversary of death

Mendelssohn: 200th anniversary of birth

Purcell: 350th anniversary of birth

And its the 40th anniversary of my school becoming a music school :)
