Hello, all! Welcome to the final match (Round 2, game 3) in TransformationDog Tournament 2024-'25. Contestants are @ComradM and @BattleChessGN18

White: ComradM

Black: BattleChessGN18

Pieces involved:

- Time Thief replaces Queen.

- Builder and Angel start on left and right epty Bulldog Start Squares, respectively.

edit - 3-18-25 -- Barrier replaces Kingside Rook; King may Castle with the Barrier.

Rules of Bulldog Correspondence apply to this match, with the exception of 3-day time rule. Rull will be applied very flexibly. Contestant may call TW after 72 hours of no stated move from opponent. On the other hand, GameHost encourages contestants to kindly provide leniency, whenever can. If lengthy leave of absence is certain to a contestant, please announce it. (Unless it is outlandish or unreasonable) It is automatically granted. Therefore, 14-day vacation is not enforced.

Outcome of match will be reported back to @Martin0, @VM_LeaderAbhyudaya or @Puzzles for rating adjustments.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I will typically render diagrams after 1 pair of moves (1 black move, 1 white move); though, as many as 2 pairs of moves (black-white-black-whitr move) can be made without a diagram. After that, please call "Waiting for Board" or "WFB".
Diagrams will reflect a pair of moves at a time.
Diagrams will be rendered from the perspective of White (@ComradM)s. Though, secondary diagrams from my (@BattleChessGN18's) perspective of Black will also be provided.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The match will officially commence, once White (@ComradM) makes a move. Good luck to my opponent (and long-time fellow chess veteran!)!

=)

@ComradM, since the match has not yet started, I wanted to ask you:

Would you consent to a modified Castling rule, where players are given the option of moving either 2 or 3 squares over, versus the original required 3 squares over? (We would simply clarify where we want the King to end up.) Or, would you rather play with the default rule of required 3 squares over?

Please let me know!

comradM

Hello Battlechess, what happened here... Never played with either Angel or Builder, not to speak about horrific time travels - and now all three pieces at once...

Cannot guarantee that this will be a high level match, and expect there will happen heavy blunders at least from my side🤓 It seems I have no other choice than the squares of the castling, so I chose the old classical castling where the King lands left side on c1 and right side on i1.

If I had a choice, I would wish to replace the Timethief with something more familiar, say Hunter or Guard)

In the case I don't have one, I would play

1. a2 - b4

and wish you gl

Hi, @ComradM! It's been too long. Nice to hear from you again. haha

Also, default Bulldog Castling it is.

Also, we don't need to start right away. Perhaps give it a week or two to familiarize (or re-familiarize) yourself with the pieces.

Edit - 3-18-25:Also, is your first move final? (It doesn't have to be. We can start over from the beginning, after you familiarize. )

Sorry, @ComradM! I completely forgot to mention (and accurately reflect in the 2D diagram) that this match also has a Barrier!

So, the four pieces you have to familiarize yourself with are:

- Time Thief
- Barrier- Builder- Angel

So, because I slipped up silly here, your previous move, 1.a2-b4 is nullified, so that we can start over from the beginning. (Of course, if you would like, you can always re-state that same move again! That's up to you. haha)

comradM

Hi, thanks, I also enjoy to play with you. The move I made was looking at the 2D board at the top (Found out now that the 3D board is not the same as the 2D, it contains another piece instead of a Rook, that I have forgotten what it is, please replace it with a Rook).

If there is no chance to get rid of the Timechief, I will remain on my move, but if we can replace it with some piece that I have already played with, I will be very glad to start over. Of the two new (for me) pieces Angel and Builder, I think that I can learn their specialities in reasonable time and will deliver a game of some quality

Actually, I was just done editing my post to explain that that piece is the Barrier.

Also, because this is a very specific theme ("Transformation"), the pieces are pretty set. In this match, it will have to be a Time Thief. haha

comradM

Ok, I will live with the Timethief, made already my move from the original starting 2D diagram.

But now it's the case that I don't accept the change of the diagram after I made my move.

Now, since you are the tournament manager, you have the choice:

You accept to continue without the barrier and make your move, or

you insist that the start position must be changed and contain 4 new pieces, then I will immediately resign and congratulate you for the tournament win

BattleChessGN18

Lol Why is everyone so against the Barrier? 😋😆😋

Anyways, we can play without it. I'll edit the diagrams to revert it back to the Rook later.
