Un-banning members should not kick them out of the club.

I think that when someone bans a member, and then he changes, or something, you un-ban them, they should stay in the club, not leave it! Tell me what you guys think, because if you un-ban them, they should be in the club.

Yep... if it kicks them out of the club, then what was the point of un-banning them?

TheWolfofBadenoch

I totally agree. I don't think you should ever burn anybody. It's just wrong. So if you unburn them, then they definitely should stay in the tub.

That literally makes 0 sense... Sure people can change, but how often do you think this situation occurs? The purpose of banning is a kick + never allowed back. Using this logic, if we tried kicking, a person could never leave a club...

It will depend upon the will of the banned member whether to join back or not,

There's gonna be a glitch if this method was allowed. Now, you can ban tons of tons of non-club people and un-ban them and they're gonna get directly admitted in the club sad.png

It seems illogical that unbanning someone kicks them out of a club... if a person has does something to merit getting kicked out of the club, then that should occur (automatically) when they get banned.

I'm not sure what "banning" involves... but if the position is held that the banned person can be rehabilitated (from whatever behaviours got them banned), then there should be a (possibly variable) time length that the ban lasts for.

Personally it seems like it makes more sense for bans to be permanent and irreversible... after a person gets kicked out of a club, should they mend their ways then that will mean that they behave differently when they join some different club.

When you get kicked out of a club, you get to join back (if the club is open / if the admins allow your request again when the club is private)

That was actually a thing earlier, and clubs used that bug to get Magnus('s account) in their club :/ The staff removed it, so it's unlikely for them to bring it back

Chess_Night5030

When?

edr0nt

Do you think I'll remember the specific dates lol it was many months ago

TheWolfofBadenoch

Why is this being discussed here? This isn't a programming matter for chess.com to address. It's a policy choice for club administrators.

MainframeSupertasker

It's to discuss whether the majority of chess.com voters would agree to this idea.
