Kinda disagree about 4p custom starting positions because it was literally being announced every alternate month lol.
Other than that, nice iceberg, so here you go: 🥠
Variants certainly have a lot more coding and depth involved then regular chess does on chess.com (I think, although regular chess has been studied more and there are lessons), but only 0.1% of chess.com games are variants (relating to the iceburgs)

I would say Variants club should be above CVC
Variants Club is cvc? You mean server? Only 5% of people who play on the variants server are a prt of CVC.

They probably talked to Choco
Context: I just finished a test game of Mini Grasshopper Arena v2, was glancing over the lobby for rare seeks, and saw an exact replica of my position, albeit with a different tc.

The 4p starting positions, especially 4p giveaways, such as diamond wall, the underground variations, and more just keep showing up, people play them like once every few hours, and there's only a few good players who really understand the strategies.
By 4pc custom starting position I mean this forum: https://www.chess.com/clubs/forum/view/4pc-variant-custom-starting-position
AI would be bad an easily recognisable
well, here are wha the restrictions would be:
1) AI knows all the rules and pieces that are available, except invisible brick and duck (as a brick) to avoid confusion.
2) No exploits
3) Also throw in a wildcard who makes a seemingly AI position (not too newbie, but also nothing too innovative and possibly not balanced).
Being able to train an AI to create variants would be really cool, I think it requires a lot of knowledge in 'machine learning' though.
ChessCraft already did this, although there cannot be 4 player variants or special rules like atomic, but we can inspire from how the creator made the AI work.
