If you are interested in helping to get things going, why not join the kind of content discussions here in the forums that you would like to be interested in, and see whether that meets any interest here?

You know that those saying "I want to be an admin" are least likely to become admin.

If you would like to become a happy member in a lively group --- even much before thinking about becoming admin ---, wouldn't the natural way be to see whether the things you do and the content you are interested in meets what the group members are interested in?

Well, pitch it to us, Malis.

What would you do if you were admin? How would you promote activity in a group focussed on Endgame study?

While normally team matches and vote chess games are in order, for example, that hardly seems appropriate here as very few openings would guarantee an endgame.

Other things, such as discussion, can be set up / furthered by any member without worrying about admin permissions, of course.

First of all you are an admin of the endgame lovers group. I fail to see what kind of new content you want to bring to this group that you cannot do there. There's no point for you to push the same content in two groups.

Secondly I don't have faith in that you have even read the description for this group. We are not playing team matches or vote chess, so mentioning that we have no active matches or vote chess makes it look like you are interested in pushing content we do not want.

What I want to hear is why you want to make this group active and what content you want to bring.

Heres an open match as an example!

This is a tournament, not a match. The ability to set this up depends on membership status, not on being admin. I think I know this position, isn't it a classic with black winning by moving his king to h3 to exploit the pawn structure deficit of white's?

The position in your diagram you posted in this thread is a known position that white went on to win nicely in a game played somewhat recently, I think a couple of years ago.

The positions you are using are known, nice analysis for them can be found in endgame books or recent chess journals, and they are won for one side. I would not want to have to play an entire tournament for them, when the first top game played with it may show quite a lot already about how the position is winning for one side, or when reading the analysis for them in books may take away most of what is needed for playing them out.
