I saw the match of my club today, I want to ask for some bugs? If you close the account then you will be infected with zeros or what? Is there a recount? Link to this match: https://www.chess.com/club/matches/ukraine-loves-chess/983366

I knew that board scores were automatically forfeit for Fair play closure and for abuse closure.

Didn't realize it was also applied for self closed.

Surely it doesn't normally apply to self closed accounts?

Perhaps there were some special circumstances in this case which we don't see. The closure-icons don't always tell us everything.

I reported it to cc we'll wait and see what happens!

The penalty was applied to self-closed accounts for a short time.  The intent was to handle the situation of people creating new accounts to flood a team match, and then when their games were completed close the account.

However, that was easily circumvented by simply abandoning the account but leaving it open, and it wrongly penalised many other legitimate closures, so it was reverted.

I don't remember exactly when that code was in place, but I think it was sometime in early spring, which is when this team match was completed.  If that team match was played now, it would be scored as 1.5-3.5.  Fortunately, in this case, it did not change the final outcome.

You did of course receive courteous replies to your question and one particularly informative one from a moderator. I'd say thanks first before trying to block.wink.png
