RL Craft, but it's pretty tough on beginners

How much computer space does that take up though? Will it be laggy?

Dragontracker

You could try pixelmon or jurrasicraft. You could also try plugins with other people.

PolarPhoenix

Get Orange's 1.7 animations for 1.8. Improves pvp by a lot (better block hitting, bow, rod, etc)

TheCoolGuyy

You could do something OG like Aether 2

antisunechess

You could get Tekkit, but I think it has changed its name. It's a technology mod with improved redstone, power and energy, and materials like dark and red matter

billh9

How about a very good pvp mod. Anybody?

It's only 3.4mb, and it's not gonna be laggy, but be warned you'll probably die around 5-10 times before you get to having stone tools.

King_undercover_vamp

I had a lot of fun with Galacticraft back in the day.  You can build a rocket and various space-themed instruments and blast off to explore various locations in the solar system.  You have to manage oxygen, insulation, and electronics in order to survive properly.  When I played it, you could go to Mars, a Space Station, or the Moon; it seems they've added the Asteroid Belt and Venus as well.

Currently on a Mac, so modding is rather difficult for me.

HappyHippo2018

Orespawn and tech guns

Oh! In that case I think I'll try it out!

I only use Badlion Labymod and Optifine

antisunechess

Those aren't really the mods he seeks, those are just performance enhancing mods.

What's Badlion?

antisunechess

They are clients that you can use instead of the vanilla one. They are supposed to improve your experience, but many servers consider them cheating as they add some stuff similar to hack clients like looking wherever you want without others seeing you can turn your head etc.

antisunechess

They are not mods, they are clients.

Dragontracker

It is the same for the plugins. Most of them are not severe changes, like adding more ore or more bosses. They make vanilla Minecraft more interesting, like making all blocks have gravity like sand and gravel.
