What happened to the catbots?

I pulled up chess.com to play against Grumpy Cat, and noticed that the bot I was playing had changed to something like ChessGPU. Why did you remove the catbots?

Bots change every time.

They’re gone

I guess people got bored or chess.com need to have newer bots to cycle through to keep player retention.

They were always just going to be temporary. The article about their release mentioned it.

those bots change each month but we will always remember mittens torturing GothamChess and Hikaru Nakamura

Why are you posting this on the chess.com beta forum?

They probably dont play bots that often, and where confused as to the removal of one of the most famous lineup to date.

They switch bots on the first of every month, I think.

I mean, they should’ve kept mittens…

Would it be possible to have mittens become a permanent bot?

M3gan was defeated in the Computer Championship by Mittens but chess.com will replace every bot that is at the top of the list.
