Many people complained that a round-robin tournament, where the same teams play each year, will be boring.
With such speedy rotation it will not be the case.

The majority of voters were for the Superleague.

Hello Marignon,
There are 3 votes for maintaining as it was before and 2 votes for the superleague Marignon.
How did you calculate?
Touluse withdrew and i see that esmeralda deleted her vote and comment. so remains 3 votes. And Adriano didn/t vote for the super league. He forgot to vote the question 1 so you can't count it. So remains 2 votes
And for maintaining the old rule you forgot to count the Dale(prague) vote. So we have 3 votes.
2 votes in favor of superleague and 3 votes in favor of swiss.
Bellow is your comment, Adriano's comment, Dale's comment and Esmeralda comment:
Question 1. Competition Format:
Option 1. Original written in the rules. 12 top teams form the Superleague, which will play a round robin. All other participants play in a Swss competition.
Option 2. Stocker68: Divide all teams hierarchically into 4 groups of 10.
Option 3. Dale00007: Keep 1 group playing Swiss as this year.
Votes so far:
Option 1: 4 votes (Kyiv, Toulouse, Yekaterinburg, Malang)
Option 2: 0 vote
Option 3: 2 votes (Babylon, Bucharest)
P.S. Adriano why didn't you vote for the question 1? you voted starting with question 2 . :(

Team Kyiv
Question 2) option 1
Question 3) option 2 (suboption c should be written in details to avoid any misunderstanding in future (let's say how many percent of members should have city name in their profile etc.)
Question 4) option 1
Question 5) unfortunately I don't

I am not sure if my votes will be counted or not as we are only 20th, but Prague votes:
1 - 3 (this is quite strict vote) - I would wish that this competion can run as complementary to WCL and not with similar top teams playing top division). Prague would compete only in Swiss tournament next year. I have described all pros for keeping Swiss already above.
2 - 2
3 - 1 (but with adding item a from boby to ban fictional teams)
4 - 1
5 - no
I think first let Marignon answer your question
Btw, do you support superleague or one Swiss for all?
For some reason I believed 100% that you voted for the Superleague. (And within a month you did not tell me that it was the other way).
OK. Then the votes are split 3:3 and I also support a single Swiss solution given the circumstances, so it is 4:3. We'll have a single Swiss competition (and one competition is easier to manage than 2). I'll edit modifications in the rules now.
Sorry for changing my mind. You did it right counting me first for Superleague. But again due to changed circumstances I believe now it's better to play One Swiss Division
KOJER, I don't see any rule which says anything about that
It means that team has to represent a city, no rule is introduced about players, as far as I know. Players from nearby smaller cities and other settlements can still play for that team in this tournament.
There is even this addition "or Location field" so that regional teams can also participate without changing the team name, but just with changing team's "Location" to the biggest city represented in that group.
There were voices about changing this rule, but I can not see any change from last season in this "participation" part
A useful addition to the rules, which was de-facto used this year.
Any teams that have forfeited their matches in a round (through no-show or low participation) will be forced-paired in the next round to minimize negative impact on active teams.
Any team that forfeits two matches in WSOS is suspended from the competition and thus not included in the pairings for the next round.
Any teams that have forfeited their matches in a round (through no-show or low participation) will be forced-paired in the next round to minimize negative impact on active teams.
what does this mean?
Hi. I'm really confused about this WCL open and all,as I have no idea when I should be locking matches or sending challenges. So, could someone please post the schedule (for the 2016 or whatever current season), in the following format.
Round 1# MMM/DD
For example, today is February 15th, so post Feb/15 (I find it kinda confusing because some people do 02.15 and others 15.02).
Also, please post the date in which the match for that round must start by.
Thanks. :)
>what does this mean?
In round 1 Team A and Team B cannot gather at least 5 players (or cannot accept the challenge). Their matches are canceled, opponent teams win but players suffer because cannot play.
In round 2 team A is scheduled to play vs team B overriding any other criteria. If they still do not have 5 players, they are not included in round 3 pairings.
B. Tournament Format
2015:
The tournament played by the Swiss system in 8 rounds. 12 leading teams of the tournament will play in a round-robin World Cities Championship the next year.
2016:
12 season 2015 winners play in a 11 rounds round-robin World Cities Superleague.
6 bottom teams leave the superleague at the outcome of the season.
All other teams play by the Swiss system in 9 rounds. 4 top-ranking teams will join the Superleague in season 2017.
In season 2017 the Superleague will be played among 10 teams.
Isn't it too much to relegate 50% of Teams from Super League?
