ChessUp 2 has been received! I’m starting this thread for anyone who has received their ChessUp 2 board to leave reviews, tips, advice, problems, etc.

So far, I am in love with the board. The pieces feel great, the response of each move is instant, and the board is very responsive.

I received the board this afternoon. Upon turning it on, and connecting to WiFi and my chess.com account (no problems there. Very easy), I played 4 games before having to turn it off. Upon returning to the board a few hours later, the board would not find a 30 minute game for me on chess.com. The loading screen would appear and nothing would connect. I reset the board which fixed the issue.

I know they will be putting out updates regularly, so I don’t want anyone to be frustrated. The board is still beyond perfect in my eyes.

This is MUCH better than Reddit. Hope people see this value-added service.

I have played way more games than I was mentally prepare for over the last two days. Not only live games, but against the bots (both the Chessup engine and chess.com bots), and games with my wife. The board is running perfect. I've had to turn the board off and on a few times to get the chess.com bots to work, but other than that, everything has been great. I can honestly say my expectations were impossible to meet, and this board has met my expectations. I am in love with this product. Chessup 2 will go down in chess history as one of the biggest steps towards the future in the chess community.

My white king is not being recognized by the board. I forced an update but still not working. Let me know if anyone knows how to solve

Love the chessup2 board, no problems setting up and getting started.

1 Question ... How do I play the chess.com bots? I click play bots, and I get asked for AI strength but no choice of bot?

Would be cool to play a rapid game against someone else with the board ...

Please email info@bryghtlabs.com with subject "bad piece" and we will replace it.
There is a software update coming to fix the white king issue, but we will also send you a backup piece to be sure.

I just got my ChessUp 2 board today. No problem connecting to the internet or Chess.com. However, the squares are not lighting up on startup (or any other time), so I cannot play.

I've updated the firmware and reset the board several times. No dice.

I have emailed support and am awaiting a reply. Assume I'm not the only one that will experience this issue. If someone figures out how to solve it, please let me know. Otherwise, I will update once I hear back from support.

Can you send us an email info@bryghtlabs.com and we will troubleshoot with you. If you could share a short video that will help us as well.
Thank you

FYI - Jeff has posted a video link over at Kickstarter, may be of some assistance to a few:

ChessUp 2 Connecting to Chess.com

More documentation/vids are coming (they delayed since things were changing, and still are), this is a simple one to connect the board to chess[]com.

@cosmoKJ As I understand from the video you have to download the app to start with and connect it via Bluetooth? And for updates, which I am sure will be constant for a while, do you also have to open the app and do the same thing over again or will it update the firmware over the internet connection anytime you turn it on without depending on your phone each time?

The phone's only purpose is three things:
1) Initial log in to chess.com (good for up to a year)
2) password entry for non english wifi
3) postgame tools for OTB games (and lot of that is coming soon)
Otherwise, the board will update itself and retain all the info for logins and misc.

Is it possible to play other time controls than the ones that are showed on the Chessup 2 board?
