A slightly lossy but extremely simple pattern is better than an N-1th degree polynomial in the number of data points that's an exact fit.
Neither will match after the next game, but yours will probaby be closer, and of course there'll be a 4th-degree polynomial that is an exact fit.
I was hoping to hear some conspiracy theories about why there should be a pattern, but I think the thread is dead on arrival now that you've scared people off with some math.
The number of moves in the games so far are:
Game 1: 16 (4x4)
Game 2: 25 (5x5)
[rest day would have been about 36 (6x6)]
Game 3: 51 (7x7 + 2)
Game 4: 64 (8x8)
The pattern is obvious, and they're perfectly on track for the last of the 12 games to be about 400 moves.
Explanations and conspiracy theories for this startling pattern?
