Andrew Paulson and the WCC

Hmmm..He wants to make chess "sexy". It's too hard to understand for it to be glamourized and sold to the masses, in my view. 

At least they can have better hype than they have recently and better venues than Siberia

If chess is an art then I think it should have suffering involved. Playing in Siberia adds to the historically mysterious aura around chess. What would compel people to suffer in those conditions to play chess? I like that point of view of the game much more so than whether or not celebrities play the game.

I don't think you have to cut off your ear. Playing in Siberia sounds better. Severing limbs seems like a gruesome expression of passion for your art.
