What's to stop an unambitious player from securing a draw by parroting moves and playing his/her opponent against his/herself? Time? I can just see it happening with each player on each board on each clock daring the other to move first taking it down to the last second and finishing at Blitz pace if niether gives in... it's a silly picture.

In an OTB tournament arbiters deal with situations where a player gets outside assistance.
