Oh

You can actually try and do the daily puzzle without hints. See if that helps.

My dear Avatar fan friend, I advise you to memorize and try to calculate the positions blind.

positional play is difficult, but learning to defend is the crucial and hardest skill to earn

ok but of course its tied to calulation like everything....

I rarely calculate...

You're on 1750 and you can't get better? I haven't broken 1400

Chess_Monk1

chess is a hard game... no one said it would be easy to beat magnus carlsen

Chess_Monk1

You can also go to lessons on chess.com and go to a lesson which will help ya! happy.png

Don't quit it!

You rate 1750 and not good enough? I can't crack 1400. Realize that not everyone can be as good as they would like or we would all be GM's. I have found at my level, for what it is worth,

You rate 1750 and you ate not good enough? I can't crack 1400, it's all relative. Realize that we can't all be as good as we would like or we would all be GM's.

Try chess variant. I played 3-check chess and 4 player chess, it's pretty fun...

it may be fun but how's it gonna help my calulation.

If you're going to quit chess, you might as well try something else.....I just tried something new today and enjoying the variant called "Automate Chess" where 2 computers face each other by placing the pieces anywhere you want. Pretty fun stuff.

You rate 1750 and are not good enough? I can't crack 1400, it's all relative. Realize if we were all as good as we wanted to be we would all be GM's, the competition is keen and sharp at your level. For what it's worth, at my level, I have found that the difference in 100 rating is mainly about subtleties, just a bit of insight at the right time, not so much an intrinsic difference in skill level. You will likely find a new plateau if you keep playing, and it will happen without you being aware of it, all the playing and study you have done has not evaporated, it will take effect I am certain. 😊

I quit 2 years ago and I was rated 2000! And now I’m getting back into it because I realized I liked it and have fun with it. And if your not having fun try different openings and learn new things to and have fun with it.
Batman2508

Im not saying im bad, im just saying I can't improve

Learn to have good happy positive attitude and try to be more confident in yourself. If you do that you’ll be better but the attitude you have now is self beating. Try new openings out so if they work for you you. But remember to stay positive.

Just relax and appreciate the fact that you are a 1900 level player!  Thats friggin' AMAZING!  I know it's all relative and you may have goals to be higher but you are already beyond anything I could dream of!  I have managed to hit 1100 twice but can't remain there.  1900 seems like GM level to me!
