I find it really disconcerting and unrewarding playing anonymous strangers online.

I’ve discovered I much prefer playing online chess with people I know personally. How do you all feel about it?

Well, 99.9% of your games have been unrated.

No wonder they feel unrewarding.

You played 579 bullet games, of which only 1 was rated.

No one, including you has any idea of how good a player you are.

What do you have to lose if you lose rated games?

Nothing. A rating isn't much but it tells you a little about the person you are playing. They are no longer totally anonymous.

It's time to become part of the community.

I love competing in OTB tournaments because I can see who I’m playing and interact with them in person.

It's the best thing about a chess server like this for me.  A different person almost every game and often only playing the same person a few weeks apart from a previous game if we are online at the same time and randomly paired again.

Yes you must not care much about such things and just play . Moreover if you don't like to play anonymous "strangers" , you could play me .... an anonymous dragon!

Isn't it great? wink.png

Also as others have pointed out, maybe give rated games a try! That way, no matter who you play, it will feel like you're actually playing for something and you will see progress! happy.png

Of course, the other possibility is that he has multiple accounts and just uses this one to screw around with...
