The gatekeeping/toxicity is usually from people who have their whole ego built on their rating/knowledge. And chess has a lot of those type of people. Very similar to the hacking community actually.

Ok, I´m not saying this is the most useful forum you´ve ever seen. But ¿the most toxic of the whole internet??? Bro, you lack lots of internet...
The problem with these extreme cases is that their toxicity doesn't just flare out in the forums, it's probably an issue in their personal lives as well. And all the frustration and anger which comes as a result of that, is just bundled up and released in here.
I feel frustrated or depressed too sometimes, but you need an outlet to vent all these negative emotions. For personally it's going to the gym, I really believe that exercise can actively combat depression. The feeling you get afterwards is almost impossible to beat and it just dissolves all negative thoughts and emotional stress instantly. At least that's been my experience.

The majority of the people that create or post into these threads has been previously blocked by me.
I believe most of this nonsense is founded in anger, frustration and a desire for attention, but I honestly don't care.
I will not retaliate or do anything else to start a conflict, because I know what we stand for and what our mission is. You cannot reason with people like that, all you can do is contact staff and hope that they will be dealt with.

What valid, salient point is there? There is none. It's all people that I blocked in the past, for reasons that they are now rendering self-evident, by posting such hateful garbage, that is solely based on their own emotional response and individual frustration, rather than actual facts.
This is just sad, honestly. But I don't care anymore, I just report them at this point.

In this case it's people who are unable to deal with rejection and lash out at others for reasons that they themselves are responsible fore. The fact that they would even allow themselves to behave in such a ridiculous way already seals this box. There really isn't much more to add.

I blocked you way in the past for spreading that untrue rumor, yes. But that's the problem, I know you don't care at all if it's true or not, but of course I care about false rumors being spread about me. And that's why I blocked you, because you displayed a willingness to support a baseless lie, only for the purpose of entertainment. It's that lack of empathy which lead me to that conclusion.
