Look at the pathetic moment we all are going through.. It has much it’s reason behind the sad negativity and loss of interest to respect others and when that isn’t to be accepted, tolerant things begin to change, those who acted off look at their behavior and the block helps them, that is regarding were they wishing to continue to be a part of the great change for that community.
Incredible toxicity in the chess community

exactly
cough*colby cough*

Well, I say he’s got quite a thread built of pages, and his actions show, have shown significantly he deserves the opportunity to prove he means just what he’s stating regarding everyone here, and that is very commendable.
@chesschesskid ......how about that ‘exactly’?

Yes, I don’t believe that what Colby is doing is bad in any way. I checked out you clubs homepage @chesschesskid, and you state that you want to make peace throughout the forums, spread positivity, etc. This is exactly what Colby is trying to do. Based on you clubs description, you should be helping and supporting Colby. The last thing you should be doing is hating on him. Isn’t that against everything your club stands for?

I believe you do too, wish just the peace we deserve, and a proper harmonious atmosphere, @chesschesskid.

If you are for change, that BEING ONLY Good, then you are welcome to help the cause, the cleansing for the better of all threads cause.

I've get used to it😅 I also hope the topics won't cross beyond chess since chess should be something enjoyable for everyone.
I wouldnt feel too bad - chess forums have been awful ever since the internet was invented. What could be an opportunity to share knowledge and grow our own understanding of the game is replaced by petty bickering, slander and pedantics.
I mean, have you ever seen any post that even verges on being helpful regarding actual chess - whenever anyone asks about openings, improving tactical play or endings you are either met with the standard toxic lines like "study books and get good" or "stockfish says it is -0.05 for black so the whole position is trash and never to be trusted" or simply silence.
If I were in charge I would ban so many players from the forums I might only have a few hundred left, but the quality of posts would be so worth it !
I rarely reply to forum threads, but when I reply to people asking for advice, I always try to say something useful.
I feel that people boasting about their online rating is one of the greatest parts of the forums. its hilarious to me how serious people can get when it comes to playing a game on a computer. It speaks volumes of one's character when they need to rely on the fact that they have a better chess.com rating in comparison to someone else in order to make them feel better about themselves and get themselves through their day. i guess all i can say is dont take it so seriously and just enjoy the show, and most importantly, the game
May be so is everywhere.
I was on one russian chess site for two weeks. A lot of toxic people is over there too.
