Hi, I highly recommend disabling any chat features. They may still be able to chat in the forums though? That can be a problem because they may get into a toxic discussion or there may be inappropriate content.
Hope that helps!
Absolutely disable all social features on this site before you put a child in front of it.
Some of the most vile, verbally abusive, and otherwise creepy people I've seen anywhere online are here, and they will aggress against you unprompted, win or lose.

perhaps that's just your perception.

i remember trying to help you there but then i also realize you blocked me right after. don't remember having any other conversations with you though.
It's ok 10+ can easily handle this site. Many people don't chat anyways, but you can disable chat. But, I would recommend chesskid.com because there is no chat and the kids will meet their level and aged players. If they are very good at chess, then you can keep them on chess.com since it takes time for matchmaking in chesskid.com and they aren't really good at chess.
(Chesskid.com is a site for kids to play chess by chess.com)
