GM Daniel Naroditsky did a phenomenal job at the 2024 FIDE World Blitz Championship. He wasn’t doing so good when winning 4 out of 7 of the first games, but gained confidence and momentum as he continued to win the next 5 games in a row. This made his place in the tournament soar to the top 10, as he drew against GM Wesley So, who had the white pieces and is a 2800 rated player, in the final game. Unfortunately, he was apart of a 10-way-tie with 9.5 points. Only 8 could move in to the next day’s quarterfinals, which eventually would lead to the semifinals and the finals. He was so close to making it through the next day, but wasn’t qualified, even though he played just as good as the others. The “tiebreaks” were unfair, in my opinion, and I think w they should’ve had a quick sudden death blitz match(es) between the top 10, so we could have a fair tournament the next day. reply/like/upvote this if you agree.
