Why do I feel like I'm playing much worse now?

I started getting back into chess around a month ago, and I saw a steady increase of rating to 2200, but then around a few days ago I started tilting hard and now I get consistently beat by people who are <2100, which is really demoralizing compared to my performance just a few days ago. Should I just take a break again?

For me, when I am on a losing streak, I have found that my mindset becomes "must win" rather than focusing on trying to make the best moves.  Taking a break helps me a lot.  As does readjusting my thinking and really trying to just focus on the game at hand and trying to make the best move that I can find in the position.  You can't win the game on the first move (provided your opponent didn't resign)---so focus on making good moves, one at a time, and accumulate advantages.  Take it back to basics.
