I will say it becomes less of a problem the higher in rating you get. Like people past a certain threshold clearly care about their game and improving and will likely have more respect for their opponent

People curse all the time in real life. I found this out when I went to middle school... and I assume they act the same on the internet. But then, stuff like "lol this little [censored] can't even play" can't really be taken as a joke when you can't see the perpetrator's face.
