Nice. We obviously have similar taste in sets. I have a 3 3/4 lardy that looks fairly similar although the knights are a bit smaller in proportion to the rest of the set. Love the natural finish and lack of horrible shiny lacquer that was sometimes applied to these older sets.
1974 Olympiad Lardy set 4" Kings

Very nice set, Ron! It fits perfectly with your Drueke (I love those).:-)
I find it fascinating how similar these Lardys and the Chavets look. Where they from the same producer? I always thought that wasn't the case. Simply both from France. But this similiarity made me wonder...

Thanks for the info, Chuck!

Bitte sehr, Paul. I found this article to be fascinating. Perhaps you will too!http://www.chess-museum.com/chess-piece-production-in-the-jura.html

Dankeschön Chuck! ;-) It was very interesting indeed! I didn't even know about the other producers like Michel Roz.
@bananamoon: Thanks, that helped!;-)
Interesting. The article does not mention Edmund Dujardin. I thought they were a jura turner but perhaps they were only a reseller for Lardy or Chavet?

So how heavily weighted is this set? Thanks. Or is it weighted?
-Mike
Hi Mike - When I get home I'll get it out and weigh it. Thanks -Ron

It's very interesting chess set. But does somebody know, how much is it worth? I can't see it's value because I don't have a premium account on worthpoint.
Hi All- I believe this to be the '74 Olympiad set. Based on a pic of Chuck's from the link below. It doesn't have the box but came in a rather curious real white rabbit fur pouch (OUCH!) . Looks perfect on my vintage Drueke #65 Play-a-way board IMHO
Thanks for looking -Ronbo https://www.chess.com/forum/view/chess-equipment/displaying-my-lardy-collection
