It's just a walnut and maple veneer board from Rechapados Ferrer.

I'm a simple man and I'll take these over any wood board every day of the week (unless I'm out playing on vinyl or leather on those days tongue.png).

Nice. I think its beautifull. Walnut and maple is very hard to get in Norway. I am creating a board very soon and looking for woo. But wood is not easy to find. I dont want to make it with birch or pine which is ambundant in Norway.  I would like something more rare.. been looking at different methods to create the board.

Lotsoblots is a an excellent chess player in my opinion. I haven’t seen even a hint of weakness in this game…..

@wids88 and I began a long play game last night.  My Noj Minceta needed some exercise!  I'm enjoying this thread @Krames

Right back at you! I feel like I've been on my back foot the entire game, including now. Honestly, this is the most fun I've had playing chess in a LONG time.

Edit: Before making my most recent move, I was walking to the library and back to return Logical Chess Move by Move and was wondering whether we're both playing well or if we're both playing poorly. Looking forward to seeing the review after.

It’s been a great game so far!
Krames
And yeah, great in terms of equal play, I have no idea if we’re both just awful or both playing decently :):):) we’ll see what the computer says when we’re done
lotsoblots

And the epic game finishes with a draw! I wasn't absolutely sure I didn't have something here if I could get the rook to d5 but a draw felt best for this one.

The game review shows us BOTH at over 90% accuracy!! I am busting right now, thank you thank you @Krames for the game and for starting the thread!

Was a great game! And I’m very pleased w the computer eval, we both did a decent job!!! You were definitely ahead, not sure if it’s enough to win, but I’ll definitely consider myself lucky to escape w a draw. Thank you for a really enjoyable game!

And I nominate lotsoblots for Captain/President of our forum if we ever need to be represented in a match, quality chess player!!!!!

HAHA, that's way too small of a sample size to evaluate me. You're setting me up for a harsh fall. 🤣 You took black and made the draw so that's a clear #1 in my eyes.

I just finished going through the review and some of those moves we missed were *nasty*, even with multiple attempts I couldn't find the best move without a hint. No way I'm seeing those OTB (yet!) even spending 10-20 minutes on the move.

Anyway, this has been so fun I'm going to find a club and make a concerted effort to play OTB in the coming weeks. I play shogi (japanese chess) at least twice a week but haven't really found something promising yet for chess nearby.

Hahaha 😁 this is awesome to read. I am very happy with my move to enter this thread. Thank you all for making such positive vibes here 🙏

@lots
I knew that early nb4 wasn’t correct. I need to work on not being less forcing. When my position is good, I need to learn to keep everything together. Play slower, more solidly. Lots of my style comes from 3 and 5 min, it isn’t ‘real’ chess.
