Baku vs Bohemia, and general chess set buying tips?

Hey all, been lurking on the forums for a couple of days now, checking out a lot of equipment posts...lot of goodnightmike content, haha.

I think I'm between the Baku and Bohemia sets from chess bazaar...are there any things I should consider before picking between the two?

And while I would like for the black pieces to be dark, I've seen pictures of ebonized boxwood pieces looking quite a bit worse for the wear after a while. So is this a silly concern, or should I choose a wood like sheseham or Indian rosewood when given the choice?

I really like a unique, or "pretty" knight design, and these two fit the bill. Most other Staunton Knights look like the horses have been snorting buckets of creatine.

Any other sets I should consider?

Thanks y'all.

It would be helpful if you posted some of the CB pics of each set from their website.

I don’t like black pieces because I prefer the quality of the grain and color of Sheesham or Rosewood.  This is my preference though.

I actually own this Bohemian set in Sheesham and I like it.  At this level of set, Chess Bazaar can’t be beat.  And the price is also great.  Of course you might catch a sale to get the price down a bit more.

Definitely get what you like.  You really can’t go wrong with any of the options you mentioned.

I updated with links, and added a third option...the Zagreb in boxwood and ebony.

I see no distinguishable grain on the ebony...do they stain the ebony to make it pitch black?

Also, I saw someone say that you shouldn't buy a set with "fancy knights", or ones that are on clearance. Rationale for these statements?
