If you don't understand SIlman's book, then advanced books are the last books that you need.

I understand them perfectly, but i dont like his style of writing

Aron Nimzovitch's My system is very good viewed by many as a masterpiece in chess literature is very accessable too big chess concepts explained so many levels can benefit

HolyKing

I already have my system

a quote from this book to show its author's humerous side "a passed pawn is a criminal and should be kept under lock and key and preferably executed" that had me in stitches and its message stuck

The Giants of Strategy by Neil Mcdonald, Everyman, its a very good book for intermediary-advanced players.

I will recommend a few -

John Nunn's book on endgames, any one of his volumes are a collector's item.  He is simply as good as they can come when talking end games.

John Watson's "Modern Chess Strategy" is another one that is just a gem for the depth and scope of middle game strategy and planning.

John Nunn's book on middle game structures is another one to own.

The book that started it all, the grand daddy of strategy books - "My System" from the legend, Aaron Nimzowitch.

Dvoretsky's End Game Manual is another end game treasure from the world renown coach of chess coaches himself.

Informant's Encyclopedia of Chess Combinations;  they only make those very rarely every so many years.  So if you are lucky to find one, HURRY AND GET IT.  Every single type of tactical motiff and combinations category is organized, structured, and majestically presented.

Informant's encyclopedia and John Watson's strategy, nor John Nunn's endgame book... none of them are for those who don't put the hard work in working their way through the book.

Enjoy and go WIN !

Chess Lessons by Popov - Popovs is well known for turning Kosintseva sisters to GM.

Chess Strategy for Club Players by Grooten - Has many positive reviews, Groten is also respected as a trainer

Mastering Chess Strategy by Hellsten - good book, you will be exposed on my chess positions

How To Play Chess Endgame by Muller - it a strategic endgame book, it has more material than the Endgame Strategy book by Shereshevsky

Understanding Chess Middle Game- Solid book by Nunn.
