Best electronic board for kids?

Hi. I want to buy an electronic board for my 8 year old. He’s about 1400 ELO and rising. Key factors in my decision:

- must be robust. He is 8 and breaks stuff. Usually accidentally.
- crucially needs to be able to operate “offline” as well as connect to lichess and chess.com. He doesn’t have a phone and I want him BOTH to be able to connect directly to the apps via the board AND to play the inbuilt engine without any WiFi.
- portability is a bonus but not essential.
- “robot” movement is a gimmick he would enjoy but not essential (he might break it).

All thoughts VERY welcome. Thank you!

I'd say ChessUp 2.

I thought ChessUp 2 required a tablet/mobile to work alongside?

They say no app is needed:

Ok thank you! The chessnut evo is doing a promo which brings the price down to more or less the same. You’d still go with chessup?

On that, I would leave the assessment to those who know more than I do.

Ok thanks so much. Much appreciated. Anyone have a view on Evo vs Up 2 for a 1400 kid?
