Boards from Three Trees Workshop?

Any opinions on quality of wood boards from Three Trees Workshop? They say they’ve built thousands of boards. Pictures look good and feedback on the site is gushing. What say you who have one?

That is a nice box. I would think the builder would want to know about the separation. The video on their site has him making detailed comments about their attention for quality. There are tons of comments by satisfied buyers, but it appears the vast majority are expressing delight at or shortly after unboxing.

I am also concerned about long-term stability of the board, which is why I asked for their response and am querying here. Their response was good. I'm just looking for user feedback to augment the buying process for a custom board.

Someone made me a nice board recently and it was their first. Looks good, great appearing wood, but squares are starting to show gaps of separation. And some of the unusual grains in the light colored squares are starting to splinter up.  My guess is there was too much moisture content in the wood and I live in a dry environment. Eventually those mars will shred the felt pads under pieces. I don't want the acquisition of a nice board to become a long-term maintenance project!

Thank you @MCH818 for those reactions. I really like the work of independent builders. The "Big Guys" seem to have commodity-type boards that all look and feel similar.

I ordered a maple and walnut board from Three Trees Workshop. It looks and feels great! Very happy with the work they did. The husband-and-wife team were extremely responsive to my questions and customized the order with a narrow white border around the playing field. If you are looking for a quality chessboard, even with customization, you can collaborate in confidence with these folks.

@mch818  ... about your experience with the box ... I shared a link to this thread and they responded with this comment via email. As suspected, this builder does care about what they produce!

"And thank you so much for letting others know about your experience, we really appreciate that as it goes a long way for a small business like ours. We also appreciate some constructive feedback to better ourselves, like I saw that one person had a small gap on the box he got from us, and so we'll be sure and watch out for that as we build more boxes."
