Chess USA also has two "Padouk/Maple" versions of a solid-block 14" borderless, similar to the Eureka Puzzles board. One is priced at $99, and the other is $229. I called them to find out what the difference between the two boards was, they told me country of origin. The more expensive board is from Spain, and the cheaper board is from Poland. I asked if there were any really noticeable differences in quality between the two, and the guy I was on the phone with confided in me that they looked the same to him...
The $99 board can be bought for around $90 with shipping, if you use the coupon code on the Chess USA site.
BTW, I have the "Eureka Puzzles" walnut and maple board you brought up in your OP. It is a nice board, I would probably buy it again. Nice woods, full block construction, and good thickness. Downside is that the corners of the squares are not always totally aligned, and the board came SLIGHTLY warped, with 2 corners touching the table before the other 2... maybe 1/16" of "bow" toward the center. This is not a big deal, though... you can always stick 3 rubber "feet" on one side of the board, or put the board on cloth, or turn the board around and use the other side so that the "bow" is downwards, with a slight cavity of space underneath in the center. Other than these minor quibbles, it's a really nice board for the price.
I have no real-world experience with the Chess USA boards.

Hello,
Please help me find the cheap solid wood board with no borders (1.75" square, 14" width). Walnut and Maple would be the best choice. The cheapest I could find is $100 from Eureka Puzzles:

Any suggestions?
