Hi Robert - You're quite right. The FIDE boards have been DGT for some time now. Mine is about 12 years old 
Hi Ronbo, is there a style difference between English and French Chavet sets? I picked up a small set while on vacation in Paris in the early 2000s. The King is only 2.5 inches, but the pieces have a nice feel and look to them. Your full size set looks great.

I believe ALL Chavet chess sets are from France. But I know a lot of them found their way to Britain. Cheers
