Does anyone know of a chess book that just gives tactical/strategic/openings/endgames advice on playing without resorting to loads of different situations that require the reader to trawl through loads of examples with notation. For example, I'm writing down loads of advice as I'm going through Chess Mentor, Tactics Trainer and any other resource. Things like; Castle early, looking for double check whenever possible, try and defend squares where an opponent can make a breakthrough etc etc. The list is endless. None of them are hard and fast rules, but just good general advice on tactics/strategy/openings/endgames. If there is no such books, I'm thinking it might be an idea to ask Chess.com if I could put it on here and let people add their own ideas to it. The strictest rule when writing your own ideas for it would be that absolutely no notation to be used.
