I would stay away. Do you mean like a tag sale??
chess master 10th edition disc 2

At first I thought Staples; so I was gonna say bring back the receipt. Its just a quality control issue. But e-bay, good luck. I don't know enought about computers to answer your question; how much you'll lose by not having disc 2. I sapose its your choice. Try it; if you don't like it; get the whole thing brand new.

I do own it. Never tried to install just disc 1+3. I don't think you'd harm the computer. Is this one of those auctions where the price closes in 2 mins??

I don't know if Disk 2 has anything critical on it, but I'd guess that it likely does. I can't believe that anyone would try to sell software with missing disks; I certainly wouldn't even consider buying something like that. Wait a bit, you'll see other Chessmaster 10 programs offered on eBay.

I doubt Ubisoft would be very sympathetic. If I remember correctly, Chessmaster will run with any of the disks in the drive. It sounds like the seller wants money for his copy and still be able to play.
I just checked. I have disk 3 in my drive and it runs fine. I'm only assuming it will do the same with disk 2 in the drive.
who are you buying it from? dicsc? like CD? not DVD?
well I do have original chessmaster 10th, so only one instalation DVD (one DVD, not CD's), bougth 3 years ago, in my town's computers shop, approx 20 usd was price,
so, 1 DVD and it is approx 1.46 GB of data on it, currently I have this disk copied to my computer's HDD, for emergency.
be careful what you are ordering.

...be careful what you are ordering.
Good advice.
Mine are CDs that I bought a few years ago at a local computer shop for about 20 USD also. Three CDs easily fit onto one DVD and the DVD is more convenient.
I don't like the sounds of that eBay deal. I'd stay well clear of it.

If you install the three patches, it will run with no disks in the drive.

There's a lot of things I could and should do with my home PCs. But I battle computers all day, every day. The last thing I want to do when I get home is work on another damn computer. I have an old laptop I use exclusively for chess so it's no big deal to leave a CD in the drive.

Gomer; machanics feel like you. They work on cars all day, don't wanna come home and work on theirs.

i am about to purchase chessmaster 10th edition
According to the ad on Amazon, CM ed.10 is compatible with "

You can run CM on windows 7 I had it installed previously, ran with no problems, as about the missing 2nd disc I think that disc contains the audio files for the annotated commentaries in game analysis.
OK, it run's on windows 7 (my old laptop) and it run's on win 8 , this laptop which I use right now typing this, but there is one small bug during instalation, which is by some reason interrupted and program is finally not installed, so as I remeber, during instalation i chosen some "custom" instalation and disabled some features (as i thing was some multimedia, sound or somethin, minor), CM has been installed normally, and i have no any problem using it..
if you meet this problems and you can not solve it, call me, al try to start instalation again and give you exact procedure what to do.
by the way, it also run's on win wista, as i was able to install it on my son's computer.
i am about to purchase chessmaster 10th edition but is does not include disc 2, only disc 1 and 3. is disc 2 essential to play? please help asap. tyvm
