Either that or you use a USB cable. But just to be clear: if you use Bluetooth, you won't have to install any drivers or do pairing.

Just to let you know, why the current pending bug fixes take somewhat longer: I am on the home stretch of bringing Chessconnect to the Millennium Phoenix. I expect to finish this during the upcoming weekend. After that, my speed shall be back to normal.

There is still a lot of testing to be done but this might become a very nice package for Millennium users. And I should mention that Millennium has been extremely cooperative and helpful with this. thumbup

Wondering if anyone is using a Google Pixel tablet with Kiwi browser to play with Chessconnect.

I have a Tab S7+ and it works well, also have a flip Chromebook that works well but I am looking at getting a Pixel tablet and stand for another reason and realized I could make a playing area with just that and the board, be a very nice little area. It could play music while I am playing.

Anyone use a Pixel tablet successfully?

The only announcements that I've come across that are missing now are long castles. That's happened twice today. All else is great though.

@Rsava: I have been using a Pixel 5 phone with Kiwi and Chessconnect. That worked until I broke the phone.

Ok, thanks. That helps. Still working out the details for it but it might end up being a nice chess/study area.

Between you and @vitualis my wallet is getting lighter every month ... tongue

I strongly upvote this. I got a squareoff pro without fully researching just how integrated it is with chess.com and lichess, and it turns out the answer is "not much". Playing even more than a few basic lichess bots via their app requires a payment, and none of the chess.com bots are available. I also didn't realize the company was bought out by a Chinese toy company, so don't imagine they will support the board for many more years in to the future. I'm considering buying the Chessnut Go board just to be able to do what would be possible via Chessconnect if it worked with Square Off Pro. Tea would be cheaper for sure!

This sounds amazing. Curious if there are any future development plans to support the Square Off Pro board? The Square Off app integration with Chess dot com is very limited so this would be a great improvement.

I've added it to the list. 😊

@Sobakavich: I did approach Square Off some months ago and they were not interested in cooperating with me. But if anybody finds some documetation on how to talk to this board and we find some testers willing to spent some time on this, I can give it a try.

P.S.: Thank you for the tea!

Yeah, I grabbed a SquareOff as my first e-board. In fact, I grabbed TWO, I was planning on gifting it to a friend on the west coast so we could play live chess on a regular board. The second one sits unopened in my closet.

I quickly became disillusioned with it. I keep going back and testing it, but it is just a crippled piece of hardware now for me.

The Go might be small for you if you were trying a SquareOff. The Air or the Air+ might be a better way to go (still small but slightly bigger that the Go). The Pegasus is not bad now with Jörn's amazing extension and of course the Chessnut Pro is just a joy to play with.

That's frustrating to hear! Thanks for trying though. I'll keep an eye open for documentation, and happy to test it if it gets there.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll take a look. The Square Off Pro is great at tournament size, but takes up a lot of desk space. I travel a couple times a month for work and bought it for that, so the new Go looks like it might be a winner for me and also suck up less space in my bag.

Yeah, that was the main reason I ordered the Go as well, I can travel 80% of the time for work and I like to take an e-board with me to use at night in the hotel.

I tried taking my Air in my carry on and while it fit, it was not a great way to bring it. Not to mention, if I had to gate check it, it would be easy for someone to grab ... the Go will just be moved to my laptop bag.

Let us know what you decide and if you need any help getting Chessconnect working proeprly for you. Jörn has truly made a great extension that usually just works, but if you have issues do not hesitate to ask in this thread.

If I am going by car, I will take my Evo with me but on a plane, I think the Go will be perfect.

Hi there. I have a strange issue with DGT3000 clock and DGT Smart Board - when playing on chess.com, it doesn't show me any times, just opponent's moves. On lichess, however, it works perfectly fine. Is there a chance that something is wrong with my setup?

This issue has been resolved. I didn't make any changes - it simply started working on its own today

Thank you for letting me know. I'll investigate nontheless. Issues that resolve themselves have a tendency of reappearing... angry

You've got mail.

joernupbde

And in that mail @Graham_NZ sent me his documentation for the Square Off board. So, I guess, I'll have a go at it. At a first glance it doesn't look too difficult. But I am somewhat scared of this board. Graham suggested to ask you guys about the firmware of your boards as there seem to be significant differences between the versions. So, which firmare versions are you using?

And be warned that testing is going to be cumbersome. I do not have a sample board here and integrating one without being able to do the testing myself is a painful process. I tried this before.

Rsava

I will fire mine up and let you know, but at this time I do not see myself using that board for online play. I have too many other options that just work.

I will, of course, help you with any and all testing if needed.

Sobakavich
Glad to help with testing. I don't know much at all about software development, but if you explain what I have to do, glad to help. The firmware for my SQP board is 2.5.7.

@joernupbde: In the new version of chessconnect I don't see anymore an option to choose the language of the move announcments. The moves are announced only in English and I cannot choose the language anymore (I would like to hear the moves in German). Could you help me out how to change this setting into German again? Thanks in advance for your kind help.
