I myself have a Tabutronic Sentio 45 mm square board. I wonder why we at Chess. com something doesn't work all the time. does it not detect the movement, or do the LED signs appear and then it does not turn off. For a while, everything works normally, but then problems start, it can happen that I can play a whole game without problems or not at all. On LiChes, the Chessconnect application works 100% absolutely perfectly without any problem. Greetings, thank you for your effort and answer

Hey @KNAVFAR

In the advanced settings of Silicon Labs controller driver, try to disable the "buffer FIFO" (uncheck the box). In my case, all of the problems are gone ! Ciao wink

3.5.1 is the new official version fixing the Cerno/Tabutronic problem.

Kromok2

Yes, I can confirm that I have no problems whatsoever when using the new v3.5.1 with the Tabutronic. Great update. Big kudos to @joernupbde ! He rocks ! trophies

Hi there. I have a strange issue with DGT3000 clock and DGT Smart Board - when playing on chess.com, it doesn't show me any times, just opponent's moves. On lichess, however, it works perfectly fine. Is there a chance that something is wrong with my setup?

@antondrozd It took me a while to get back to this. (But I did get back...). I cannot reproduce this problem here. Can you probably use the Chrome developement tools (right click + "inspect") and try to locate one of the clocks in the HTML tree? (see screenshot). My assumption is that it looks different in your setup than in mine.

Lately chessconnect hasn't been working for me with puzzles on chess.com. It connects and lights up the squares if pieces are in the wrong position, but it just won't register moves. It was hit-or-miss with this before, but now it seems to be completely "miss." I'm not sure if this started happening with 3.5, but it has been within the last week. My board is a Chessnut Air.

@montagdude Another one with a long response time: Here, too, I fail to reproduce the problem on my side. Can you send me a console log together with a screenshot of a puzzle that does not work?

joernupbde

Someone reported problems with iChessOne on Kiwi. Supposedly, there are problems with starting a second game. Unfortunately, I do not have the original report anymore. I just tried and was unable to reproduce the problem. If someone here has this problem: can you please provide more details on how to reproduce it?

Confirmed, if you capture a piece on the 8th rank with a pawn, when you lift the piece you are capturing it automatically promotes to a Q.

Using Chessnut Air, Edge browser, Chessconnect 3.5.0.

This will be fixed in the upcoming version 3.5.2

Just to let you know that I am still working on the project: Chessconnect for the Millennium Phoenix is now being tested by Millennium and I started working on the next major enhancement. Which is using the connected board API for rated play on chess.com. That is a request from them in order for Chessconnect to become an official app for rated games.

Just need a bit of help. I'm having problems with connection - Chessnut Air to chess.com on Android using the Kiwi browser. I connect then it disconnects when I change page to 'game.' It doesn't want to connect in the game page either. I tried setting the flags but it can't find the Bluetooth one? Lichess works fine and everything works well on the laptop through a cable connection.

joernupbde

@maxim67: Disconnection upon page change is normal behavior. Chessconnect goes to great lengths to attempt an automatic reconnect after every page change. This works in most scenarios but not in all. I understand that you tried reconnecting manually. That should work. If it doesn't can you turn on debug messages in the options page of Chessconnect and see if you get any error messages?

It's been mostly working for me lately. Sometimes I still get situations where it won't register moves, but usually reconnecting fixes the problem, at least for a while. This happens to me in games sometimes too, but more often in puzzles. How do I get a console log? I can try to capture it the next time it happens.

joernupbde

Here you can find some instructions on how to send me a console log. What brand of board are you using?

Okay, thanks. I'll do that next time. I am using a Chessnut Air.

joernupbde

Usually Chessnut boards have a very stable connection. I would love to find out what causes your troubles.

And while I am at it: Version 4.0 is going into public beta probably next week. This version will be an official client for chess.com. I am very thrilled about this. happy

Official client for chess.com! 🤩👏👏👏

That's amazing! Well done! Somehow you've managed to achieve what a whole bunch of board manufacturers haven't been able to do!

joernupbde

I have added a compatibility chart to the webpage. So it should be easier to see, what board works with USB and or Bluetooth on which platform.

Rsava

Wow! official chess[]com interface.

This is great news, Jörn, great news indeed. Congrats.

joernupbde

Public beta of Version 4.0.0 can be found here!

I have not done too much testing, yet. So do expect some problems with this "double 0" version. Lots of minor improvement plus the main thing:

This version is a registered client for chess.com. Hence it uses their Connected Board API for most types of play. Puzzles and analysis board ist still the old mechanism.

If you remove this version after testing it, chess.com will warn you that it cannot find a connected board anymore. This warning is extremely annoying as it is repeated for all eternety. But you can get rid of it by deleting all chess.com cookies in your browser.

This is the exact same problem I had when using the official new Chessnut for Android app. It must have set a cookie in my local browser which would then flash up that error message and over and over. Clearing cookies resovled it, but chessnut were blaming chess.com and chess.com were blaming chessnut!

joernupbde

Yes, chess.com sets a cookie. As long as you have Chessconnect installed everything will be fine. But if you remove Chessconnect or disable it, you will need to remove the cookie manually. Unfortunately, there is not much I can do about this. It would be nice, if chess.com had a switch somewhere to clear this flag more easily.

Edit: I made a suggestion to the chess.com developers about this.
