Gerhard, a new programming language and new operating system features are coming with iOS 8 and they are already available for developers. Maybe it could be easier for you to start working on this new platform.

Yes, there is a new language and IOS version coming. But as you can see by the above comment, some people want the app to run on older devices which will likely not support the new stuff. Well, I am commited in any case, it will happen one way or the other. Best Wishes, Gerhard Roth
Obviously the market will be larger if the app runs on older versions. However, just how much larger I don't know.
Sorry, 2.3 gives me some problems that are not so easy to fix.

May I make a small request... that you build the app to be compatible with version 5.1 of iOS or earlier? Unless there are features that require or are facilitated by later versions of course!
