Chessmen collection/presentation?
@oneor11 - I currently have 12 sets and 10 boards plus numerous travel/analysis sets (all wood) and do not have the space to display them all (until the kids move out, then that back room is MINE - BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!).
I usually rotate out my main board/pieces every two weeks or so and use that for a couple of weeks then switch to another. That way people can see the different sets as they visit.
Mr. Grau, if I may ask you, where can one find those 3 step white platform display runners with anti slip step covers? I've been conducting an exhaustive search with not many good results. Thanks for your input...regards...Jorge.
Chuck will be by to give the exact answer but I think these are it:

There are 2 different lengths.
Chuck, as usual your sets inspire. But I have to ask, who dusts them all and how often?
That was my first thought ![]()

That's a great idea. Due to my laziness I never thought about rotating them out, but I like the idea. It would give me a chance to appreciate them anew with every rotation.

That's perfect just what I need. Thanks Rsava!

One of things I've always appreciated before I even learned how the pieces moved was the artistic beauty, craftsmanship, diversity, and cultural identity of the chessmen and chessboards. Many of you have posted some really stunning pictures in this forum.
Do any of you collect chessmen or boards? If so, what do you do with them? My challenge is that I certainly wouldn't be able to play with them since there just aren't many OTB partners in my home. So that leaves display. It seems I don't have a bunch of room for a bunch of chessboards and pieces everywhere.
From a collector's point of view, how do you display your chessmen? Shelves, curio cabinets, just one piece from a given set?
