I'm the only chess player in the house so I won't be playing chess on it - maybe not enough room for it either. I was thinking of perhaps an 'investment' opportunity

That's what I was thinking too. A nice Isle of Man set would make it a nice show piece combination.
You can easily find the similarities with these ancient Isle of Lewis chess pieces to the art alongside the chess table at the auction.

We just saw this on a local auction site for $150 and were wondering if it may be worth a bit more than that? Apparently the owners imported it from the Uk - to New Zealand.
