Looking forward to seeing which sets you may be parting ways with as your collection is incredible.

Original Club Size 1849 Jaques for me please Chuck. Thanks!
LMAO. Tim Millard recently listed a large club size 1850ish Jaques if you have over six grand to part with.
Excuse me but this topic is about cgrau selling off sets from his vast collection.
This is not about where to find the best deal on sets in general.
cgrau is an attorney who has a substantial and nice private collection. He is not a retailer or seller at any other time. He is not in the business of selling Chess sets.
Please only make comments, preferably positive, regarding this individual topic in this thread.
It is a good collection and quite suitable for chess clubs and tournament chess.
There ya go Sparky!
With that I am sure Chuck will be selling some very nice sets.
A number of weeks ago, I did the same thing; I sold off some sets to reduce the number of sets in my collection. OF course Chuck's collection is much larger than mine and I bet some of the sets he will sell are also much nicer than the ones I sold.
I am curious to see some of the sets he will be moving.
Eyechess: what source did you use to sell your sets? Ebay? Facebook?
I just communicated with people on this site.
I was not interested in making money so I ended up selling stuff at a very reasonable price. I was paid with Google wallet and shipped the sets via USPS and some boards through UPS.
Of course after I decided what I wanted to sell, I pulled out the sets and put them on a board for assessment and photographs.
Well, there were at least 4 sets that I had real, second thoughts about selling and decided not to sell them because they were so nice to use for play and I couldn't replace them at all or in 2 of the cases it would cost me at least 2 times what I paid for them to replace. Sure, this was not extremely professional of me, but I am not in the business of selling Chess equipment. Instead I am a Chess player that owns a lot of sets that I like to play Chess with.

Happy Holidays everyone!
I'm going to be compiling a list of sets, boards, and other equipment from my collection that I'm going to offer for sale. A number of original Soviet, Lardy, Chavet, Drueke, House of Staunton, Chess Bazaar, and other sets that I no longer play with or display, or want to replace in my display with recent additions to my collection.
If you have any interest, please message me and when the list is complete I will forward it to you.
Many thanks!
Chuck
