this is the set I got using the pictures of Lewis chessmen
and the brown version
Valhyr Chessmen
after i made the lewis chessmen set i remembered about valhyr. they create content and products related to norse history and mythology, they have great chessmen https://valhyr.com/collections/chess
in the end it turned out to be an amazing set that exceeded all my expectations, and unlike Lewis chessmen this set turned out to be more playable, since the figures contrast well with each other from the many chess figures available on the site I specifically chose those that would be most similar to real ones
♙ Berserkers as Pawns
Inspired by the Lewis chess piece where a warrior is biting his shield. These symbolize berserkers as they are mentioned to do something like this before battle (also having the shield kicked into their mouth knocking their teeth out). Berserkers are said to either wear no armor to battle or completely transform into bears in battle and are often attributed to be followers of Thor.
♔ Odin as the King
The king piece is the allfather himself, the ruler of the gods
♘ Ulfhednar as Knight
Ulfhednar are a type of elite warriors similar to the Berserkers. They wear wolf skins and are often attributed to follow the god Odin, they can be seen on many historical art pieces like the Torslunda plates for example. Ulfhednar are often depicted with spears as the god Odin himself has a relation to his spear Gungnir.
♖ Thor as the Rook
The powerful and most strong god himself. Thor is perfect for the role of the king, but I don't want to make 2 separate sets with Odin and Thor, so I decided to give him the role of 2 rooks that hit as hard as his mjolnir
♕ Hel as the Queen
The ruler of the realm with a same name - Hel. According to sources a grim and unpleasant being with little to no feelings and the child of Loki and Angrboða. Her face is said to be half pale and half black (or dark blue).
♗ Perun as Bishop
The god of the sky, the thunderer - associated with lightning and thunder. He is likely a very old deity as we have evidence of a god names Perkwunos. He is also associated with the oak and was one of the five gods in the pagan temple in Kiev - he was depicted with a golden moustache and similary to Thor being associated with the hammer he was tied to the use of axes with many pendants being found from pre-christian times that are shaped like axeheads and bear symbols attributed to Perun. He was a god amongst the Slavic people and Baltic people, as well as stretching back in time to many other cultures.

I am not a professional designer, I made these sets quickly, I just dreamed for a long time that they would be added to this site, if you are good at Photoshop and design, then I would be glad and grateful if you made these sets better than I did. You can also make your own sets and share them here =)
i just played some blitz using these sets, i don't recommend it, it's very hard to distinguish chess pieces at the end of the game when you're in time trouble xD i think these sets are great for daily players, maybe rapid
