Pretty cool, kuko, but I must agree with the others-try ebay or craigslist. Still, not a bad idea to post here.

Just wondering, are you a sheet metal worker or metallurgist?

kuko92
I guess I would say metallurgist...although I guess it depends on your definition. My friend has a complete machine shop which I use. I design and use the cnc to machine. Not really into sheetmetal. And metal isnt at all my specialty. I like to consider myself a fine woodworker. And come on guys...one of you has got to have this set in your collection...just skip a vacation this year...

The pieces look neat on their own.  But they are simply too big to be aesthetically pleasing on the board, IMO.

To each his own! But thanks for the comment lol

tire kicker

A person who acts or thinks they're interested in purchasing a car that they can most likely not afford to buy. They spend a majority of their time trying to find things wrong with the car that's for sale by complaining the car is the wrong color,(when they knew that it was that color in the first place), its an automatic instead of a stick (but if it were a stick he'd want an automatic) or its missing a few features that they really wanted, like the irrelevant windshield washers on the headlights. Tire kickers generally low ball you on the first offer, just to see how desperate you are. They generally test your will to sell it to them by their indecision. Most tire kickers are indecisive car buyers who are cheapskates at heart, that will never fix the things or faults they find wrong on the car thats for sale if they buy it.
Tommy the tire kicker was testing Johns patience with the list of things he didn't like about the car.

@e4nf3: really necessary?.... @Everyone else/"tire kickers": feel free to ask questions regardless of purchasing it. Thats partly why I posted it, so you guys could take a look.

Well, son, you were bitchin' that everyone was bitchin'.

kuko92
And when exactly was I "bitchin"...?
e4nf3

You must have amnesia.

Anyway, this isn't Craig's list. I don't mind your pandering to sell your chess set. If I owned this site, I would.

Here's the thing, though. You are a fine craftsman but you know nothing about marketing. If you did, you'd research what people want and what they would pay for it.

But, since you don't...you make what you want and expect people to buy it...and, at an artificial price determined by what you "feel" it is worth because of how you value your time, efforts and material.

I should charge you my fee for market consulting services. But, you wouldn't pay me because I didn't ask you first and you would consider my offer as whimsical as what you are offering.

See how that works?

kuko92
Oh wow. I seem to have underestimated you. Seems like someone has security issues masked by a non existant perception of being "the man". Heres "the thing", I am a fine craftsman, unlike yourself. Ill go out on a limb and say you developed this sad behavior in highschool, right before you somehow got into business school and failed. Fortaunetly for you, your "marketing skills" took a hit because of it and you pursued a career which could have suited you better had you chosen wisely. Obviously it didnt since you seem to only have time to thread crap a perfectly good discussion with comments that only hide the fact that you cant appreciate its value. Which to me is fine. I wouldnt sell it to you even if you could afford it. You fail to understand this is a hobbie...not a means to live, and I dont need to research anything to please anyone. It was not made to fit your needs or wants. My main purpose in posting was so you guys could take a look at what I made with a lot of my "very valueable " time effort, with the hopes that maybe someone with a little more sense would give it its due merit and possibly become its lucky owner I have gotten local on the spot offers for $5000.00...and have refused to sell. I couldnt justify it. You dont think I know that this is not a quick seller? ...ill tell you what...in lieu of your marketing fees ill give you 10 % of what it will sell for ... Eventually ...so that you can take some useful classes of some sort. I wont even require a specific one...as long as its not marketing...you seem to have mastered that.
e4nf3

Hot under the collar, hah? Makes you want to spit?

You still don't get it. You have not paid a thin dime to be here. But, you come here...a chess playing site, not a market site...and you are peddling here.

Then, people have given you their views. You don't want to hear them. You just want to make some kind of crap...nicely made as it may be...and tell people what your outrageous offer is.

No one wants it. You won't just roll up your tent...you want to get belligerent at customers of this site, who are paying to be here.

There is an old expression that you are far too young to have ever heard of, but I'm gonna advise you of it: "You stink on dry ice!"

Thanks for sharing a picture of your craftsmanship.

Last time I checked...this was a "forum"....no chess playing in this section. Im not even going to go into.it tho...i feel itll be a lost cause. I welcome everyones comments...except yours...and it seems to have gotten to your head. Im not going to get into a dick measuring contest with you or anyone. I simply called you out because I didnt like you calling your "paying forum friends" tire kickers...i welcome their comments regardless of intent. Dont make this about them...this is about you. I forgive you though...i wont insult your intelligence by suggesting you actually believe what you just said. Counter Quote: If you cant ignore an insult, top it; if you cant top it, laugh it off; and if you cant laugh it off, it’s probably deserved

I hope you didn't throw away the phone numbers.

kuko92
Never needed them. I would love to know how much you think its worth ...?
kuko92
I have come to the realization that very few of you realize the amount of time, work, and money that goes into a board like this...
champ_weller

kuko92
