Hi, where have you bought the? The knight looks like a mix between a classic staunton and dubrovnik (1950’s) to me. The bishop, “slim headed”, if you will leans a bit to a ‘french bishop’. I haven’t seen anything like that, so my guess might be some unique set/ handmade …

Perhaps you’ve got some more information about where you found it/ year of manufacturing?

I have a set I am trying to identify; any help would be greatly appreciated. KH is 3&3/4", boxwood & rosewood, nicely weighted with black felt on all the bases. Thank you very much in advance.

Pacific Game Model 1477. Extremely rare - took me years to find another on eBay after I blew the auction on the first set I found. The knights are indeed the most striking piece!

@shelbylohrman

I will take the bait regarding the old, plastic Drueke sets.

Please post a few more pictures, (upright) so that we all might ascertain how many pieces are missing/mismatched and the general condition of the 2 sets. Maybe you can throw the King on a scale and standing before a tape measure?

Thanks in advance, Shelby.

I am selling set 5 used by the players in the 2022 Sinquefield Cup together with the documentation and box. The infamous tournament that started the Carlsen v Niemann controversy. Niemann played as white with this set in round 1. I have posted here under sets for sale. This link above will take you to photos of the set in the 2022 Sinquefield Cup thread. There is also more information about the pieces. At this stage I am looking for a buyer who can take delivery in Austrakia. If you would like to discuss please message me here.

Capablanca signed table ::: For Sale :::
Good afternoon, colleagues, i´m the B.A Nahuel Crusta, I’m sharing images of the table at which José Raúl Capablanca played during his visit to Pinar del Río on March 8, 1941, invited by Judge Antonio Barreras y Martínez Malo. Capablanca gave two simultaneous exhibitions, one with clocks and the other in regular simultaneous play. The signature on the table has been verified, and it’sabsolutely essential to find a collection where it can be preserved and restored. I’ll send more information via private message. Best regards to everyone!!

Thanks Magic. It really is. Imagine finding a 2.5” Drueke at this price. This board is more beautiful.

I’ve sold or am selling 6 sets (5 gone over the past week/1 left to go now on eBay). In a few weeks, there will be 2 or 3 more - probably a Camaratta/HoS ‘Cambridge Spring’. There may be another board or two as well (3 sold already over the past week/2 still on eBay).

This platform style board is gorgeous, but living as I do in a very modest space, it just never gets used…. It is large…

I have a similar one but, a slightly different color. They are epic looking platform boards to be sure. Yup! Worth your price, imo. Good luck.
