Can you post pics please? I've found that I've been getting good prices on eBay recently when selling by auction. If you want a dealer you could try Tim Milliard, his website is here:

I'm selling my ebony Sher-E-Punjab. I don't really need 2 sets and besides the money issue I have so little room in my studio so I can't display more than one set. Here's the link to my images if you're interested. https://www.chess.com/forum/view/chess-equipment/sher-e-punjab-set-for-sale

@BurtNessMonster

Where can we see your work?  The photos you attached are not visible for me.

Cherry and Boxwood, (darker set) Cherry and maple, Triple weighted with extra queens.
This set (last 2 pics is the most gorgeous of them)   Also triple weighted.
The 2nd picture, maple for the white pieces, is double weighted.

I am now making a Redheart and Satinwood set of the same design.  I could put in DGT sensors if anyone wanted that.

Description: Solora Chess Clock

The Solora chess clock is a small mechanical clock manufactured by the renowned clockmaker H. Koopman between 1948 and 1960.

It is a very special clock, we would say that it is unique, in the sense that it assembles wristwatch machinery brought together on a block of light oak wood specially precut for a perfect fit.

The mechanism of both clocks takes place by means of a simple change lever with red pushbuttons that complement its refined design.

The result is a chess clock with precise and silent machinery, with a quiet ticking, an avant-garde aesthetic for the time and a small size that provides great advantages in terms of transport and storage.

The Dutch brand Koopman has been synonymous with quality since the beginning of the last century, its chess clocks have been mostly German machinery, at least until the outbreak of World War II. In those turbulent times the manufacture is stopped and Hendricus Koopman is forced to manufacture clocks with other machinery under brands such as the Hungarian ‘Danuvia’ or the ‘Solora’ Swiss, and sell them at retail. The Solora chess clock is therefore manufactured in the beautiful Swiss baroque city of Solothurn, from which the watch brand takes its name.

Presence in Chess Tournaments

The Solora chess clock has been used in numerous tournaments and chess championships especially in the 1960s, among the most important stand out:

World Chess Championship Mikhail Tal vs. Mikhail Botvinnik. Moscow 1960.
1st Piatigorsky Chess Cup. Los Angeles, California 1963.
2nd Piatigorsky Chess Cup. Los Angeles, California 1966.
World Chess Championship Boris Spassky vs. Tigran Petrosian. Moscow 1969.

I bought a wooden 21 inch  Rechapados Ferrer board from the UK. Shipment fees are too high. I learned my lesson very well  not to do it again.

Hi, I discovered hundreds of metal chess pieces and molds from a family member who died many, many years ago (my grandmother's husband). Some of the pieces have been painted and many have not been. Rather than tossing all of these in the garbage, is there a place online (other than Ebay or Etsy) that I could find buyers or recipients of all these chess pieces and molds? I am not sure what the metal is, but these are very heavy pieces. I probably have almost 300 lb of materials here. I would imagine there is some value with all of these pieces and molds. Where can I find a buyer or someone who wants all of this? Please help. I'm desperate to find someone who is interested. Thank you.

(I can take photos of many of these molds and pieces for whoever is interested... they are all in 4 or 5 giant bins in my storage locker)

I have a Windsor Castle Chess Set for Sale...4 of them in fact!  Plus one partial set if anyone needs spares.  These were used by a chess coach in the 60's and 70's...so they do have some wear.  All of them still have good crosses on the kings and only 1 set has chipping problems with the ball on top of the bishop.  Other than that they have nice honest use.

These are the Unweighted sets in Butterscotch and Black.  They will all need their felts replaced.  I do have high end felts on the way plus the adhesive.  By the end of next week all 4 sets plus the replacement pieces will have the thick green pool table felts again.  If you are interested in any of the sets of need pieces to finish your set, PM me.

I like russian chess sets but it is hard to find any good one. Unfortunately, etsy and ebay are bombarded with junk vintage russian sets and the reproduced ones are made with CN machines. Genuine Russian sets are great in looks and also for playing with.

Have you looked at Oldset, EraRetro and RetroMaximum on etsy? Their reproductions are high quality, made in interesting woods like maple or walnut, and very close to the originals.

Need Help To Identify the Age approx. and confirm the maker E.S. Lowe . Found this set in a thrift shop and need help with dating this set . 4.25 King with a 1  5/8 base . From what i can gather it appears to be an E S Lowe Set ? Any help would be greatly appreciated

madmacsback

@ClairvoyantCrow, E.S. Lowe was the importer. These were widely sold by Lowe in North America. The manufacturer is Lardy, a French manufacturer. As far as dating it, mast likely the mid-70’s. The size is somewhat unusual for a Lowes set in my experience. They sold tons of 3.5” and 3.75” sets. But 4.25” is a nice size. Are they weighted?
