eboard compatible with Mac?

I’m in the market for an e board that can at least record games, possibly also to play online games on a board.

I was going to buy a DGT board but then read that their software doesn’t work with Mac, and I only have an Airbook.

Any recommendations for an eboard for a mac user?

Their LiveChess software has a Mac version. You can play on Lichess with it, but it's not very good. You have to keep doing board refreshes within the browser for unrecognised moves.

The best DGT board experience is an expensive one and that is an android device running Acid Ape Chess. It plays flawlessly 99.9% of the time. Very rarely you have to make your move again. White Pawn is great when it works but was a little buggy. Although, I haven't used it for a while.

Personally I wouldn't bother with the DGT/Mac combination. Been there and done that.

I had a Millenium Tournament 55 but got rid of it, I didn't use it with a Mac but I think you can. But I wouldn't bother they are not very well built or finished. The glare on the surface of the board, even in low light conditions is horrendous. There was no veneer on the edges of the board like in the video just like thin brown paint on the frame. The contrast between squares was poor too. It really was a badly executed piece of kit.

I have a DGT Smart Board and DGT Pi. I use mainly the DGT3000 part connected to the board, which show your opponents moves when playing on line. The Smart Board wil record up to 200 moves, as I understand it. I think the DGT bluetooth boards stores quite a bit more, I think. The manuals are on their website.

I hope that helps.

Thank you, that's very helpful

The Chessnut Air works on the mac and i'm assuming the pro does as well. Both are better than the DGT which is known for bad software. Not sure if they have fixed their software yet. When it comes to mechanics the Chessnut has the DGT beat with better piece recognition and smoother gameplay.

Wow this looks much better for a much lower price. Is the board size an issue? The phrase "travel size" puts me off a bit, and I'd like to be able to play OTB with it as well as online
