I could probably e-mail you the Fritz 5.32 engine. It won't work without the Fritz interface, which you obviously have.
To confirm, the file you're looking for is Fritz 5-32.eng, correct?
This should be located in your ChessBase\Engines folder.

you hit the nail on the head.
my fritz 5-32 vanished, which is amusing, because it was one of my favorite engines, even though it's objectively the worst of the half dozen or so engines i have on the fritz 13 interface
Yeah, what Ed said...
Or you could download the whole Fritz 5.32 program from here
then install the program, make a copy of the engine file, then delete the Fritz 5.32 program. (It's even possible that after deleting the Fritz 5.32 program, the Fritz 5.32 engine might remain in the Chessbase engines folder.)
so while fiddling with fritz13, i've put on several more good commercial engines, but have somehow fried fritz 5.32 (which is free and comes with everything?)
has anyone else either lost an engine before, and any idea how to get it back without reinstalling?
