The robot on the cupboard is usually not there. I just wanted to show it. It is a Dux-Astroman, made in 1959 in West Germany. It is the first robot made entirely of plastic.
Usually I have this Paranthropus robustus on the cupboard.

Thanks. Although I can't say I collect seriously robots, I have a couple of them. I like things related to space age.
@brasileirosim Where do you store you chess sets?
I just realised that I didn’t answer this question, sorry. Most of my chess sets are in the attic, as I don’t have much place in the apartment (too many books). The best sets are in a cupboard.
Wow, congrats on the new cupboard! Sounds like a perfect spot to keep your 20 chess clocks safe and sound. It's always hard to resist when you find something amazing, right?
Thanks!
I just learned hat this specific furniture is a cabinet, not a cupboard! (Portuguese and German are my main languages.)
”A cabinet is a storage box that can stand on its own or be built into a wall. On the other hand, a cupboard is a closed storage room with a door and, typically, shelves. Most of the time, the cupboard hides food, cooking tools, and other things the owner doesn't want to be seen”
Could you please post some pics from your furniture? Thanks for sharing.
We just moved to a new flat, and now I will use a 19th century filing cabinet to store the clocks I still have ( I sold part of my chess collection to reduce the amount of stuff I have).
This is a quite practical French notary's cabinet for storing files. We have it since some years, but we could not have it in our flat because our cat used it as a cat tree. Unfortunately, he passed away.
This furniture has small flaps that fold down and allow the drawers to be locked with a key.
The best chess clocks I sold already. I still have some, like 2 Soloras, 3 Heuer Chess Champion, and 2 Garde Electronic.
Brasileiro, I am notoriously blinkered and disoriented, but- I was looking at your notary's cabinet and was thinking 'ah, how cool to have the clocks stored away up there in the corner of the ceiling!' The light all made sense and I was wondering what cool chess board deco you had installed there, vertically. Only much later did I realize my error of perception
It seems this mis-rotation of photos in the course of uploading is a common problem, so here is what I do- (on a personal computer): When the picture is in place in my draft, I click on it and drag in & drop one of the blue cornerstones by some millimeters (so that the picture is minimally smaller). This often works! If not, edit post and delete your photo, go to the source on your computer and edit it in your viewer (I usually select 99% of the pic, go 'crop selection' and save it as a new file) then upload. So far, one of the two ways or both combined have always worked.
I don't have that many clocks, maybe 15, 10 of them working.. Some are on display on the shelf, 5 or six are in a box like for chessmen, but that one is somehow oversized, the rest is in shoe cartons.
Thanks for the information! I usually write and upload pictures with my phone, which is of course not ideal. However, I just bought today a fancy new laptop and will (perhaps 🙂) use it to upload the pictures.
Yesterday’s I couldn’t resist and bought this amazing cupboard to store my 20

chess clocks.
