Advice needed for trouble with chessbazaar products

Well, it seems to be established on this forum that it is a gamble when you buy a set from Chess Bazaar.

Is it really EVERY chess set you bought from there that has problems?  Aren't there any that came to be just fine?

How many Chess sets have you bought from CB?

If you have had that many problems from there, I would certainly not buy anymore no matter how nice the pictures look.

Personally, I have not bought at least 3 sets from them, even recently, because I did not want to gamble my money at the risk of receiving problem Chess pieces.

And their prices have gone up quite a bit since I started coming here in the last 3 years.  At first they were downright cheaply priced, now they are more expensive and the problems still keep happening.

I know of at least 3 people on this forum that will never buy from them again because of the problems.

I have bought half a dozen of chess sets from Chessbazaar, actually everytime there was something wrong with their chess set they encouraged me to buy another one so that they could send the replacements with them, this way I ended up with double the number of chess sets I meant to buy from them.

Well, I certainly would feel like, "Stop!  Let me off this train!"

Too bad real Chess specialists are not commenting on this thread.

I understand that but customers are not chess or wood specialists and so they fall easily into chess sellers’ traps. For example, 99% of customers do not know the difference between ebony and blackwood or padauk and redwood. Blackwood looks like ebony but it is cheap and so is redwood that looks like padauk. Also most customers do not know much about the original vintage chess sets from which fake copies are made. Therefore, the chess maker puts a smile on the knight’s face and says it is a replica of 1849 chess set and then changes that smile into a grin and says ‘now this is a replica of 1864 chess set’ and then he changes the grin on the same knight into a frown and says ‘this is now a replica of 1920 chess set etc. That is why it is incumbent on chess specialists to enlighten the customers about the quality of chess products on the market.

you know zero about chess maker or 1849 you know only negative posting the recent 1849 are incredible even top collector agree these new 1849 are accuracy I wish top collectors on here have time to make you look even more stupid if that possible
