I know the site. They have the most beautiful lapis lazuli items.
But they won't answer the door...
Well, I have been in Bagram, Afghanistan since January 2011, and I can pick that set up for 100.00. High quality lapis, (you determine its quality based on the color, and how pure it is) goes for about 40.00 a kilo (wholesale), however, because you are dealing with carved lapis (those are not hand carved pieces, they are machine cut) it's value does increase. You could expect to get anywhere from three to 500 for the board, if you sold it on ebay. For example, I can purchase a 400.00 lapis stone and sell it for about $1000.00 on ebay. I have seen this set before, and while you may be able to get some money for it; the amount of money you could get is nothing compared to the memory connected to it. Really, your not talking about a whole lof of money here.
Most all of these types of chess sets, which are mistakenly described as made of marble, are actually carved from alabaster....

That's the darnedest thing I've ever heard of! A company not bothering to get back to somebody who might want to buy their product!
Yea it seems pretty ridiculous. I will probably send another request after the holidays...maybe they are just busy? Who knows
