Hi all. My preference has always been for non-Staunton sets esp. modern designs. Naturally that would include the Hermann Ohme set. I have seen originals in wood, which are exquisite - but probably very rare, and presumably way beyond what I can afford. That leaves two options: the plastic originals

By the way , if anybody wants to see more diagrams if patented chess sets the patent data is public and can be searched by anybody at USPTO.gov
I am not sure of the parents that are not registered in the US but this seems to be a site for that https://patentscope.wipo.int/search/en/search.jsf

The copy is good but does not account for the delicate body of the original design. The king and queen are weirdly shaped at top and not sharp enough.

Anyway enjoy the set.

I found one that I think might be an original. It was lacquered and looking pretty worn. Got it restored by a professional antique restorer and wow, what a resurrection…! In maple and walnut for sure….
