Could be because Starbucks is attempting to openly promote chess like it once was. The promotion of the game itself couldn't be bad for Chess.com. However, I do see your point.

Let me turn your attention to this sob story about a handicapped kid:

Now look me in the eye and say this is not ridiculous.

P. S. Please note the only evidence of the handicap are the glasses and mittens. Cool, right?

That is political. Because there is no way to tell whether or not the son has medical issues there could be an uproar if something was done to that thread. So while he does look perfectly healthy, if he was not and Chess.com's staff ignored that fact, it could be seen as any number of derogatory actions against his family or other with the same condition.
The above may sound like a bunch of bs, but it is the truth. PR is important for any institution.
Note: Kim K. isn't even that hot. She looks weird and sooner or later she'll "nab" the wrong guy who'll take most of everything she has stolen for himself.
Sure. I agree, there are issues. But when one starts following all the posts from that particular poster, the picture becomes clear. He should at least get a warning or something.
It's simply too much. Come on.

Are you kidding me? You slap my wrist anytime I post a link to a chess set I designed and am not selling, (google "Best Chessmen Ever") but this guy gets to peddle his silicone warez indefinitely?
Do you get money from these sets you designed?
If so, you need staff clearance to post links for it. Check with staff. Who knows.
> Do you get money from these sets you designed?
Actually I'm quite happy without posting links unless somebody asks, or if I feel they are asking for advice. It seems nicer that way around here.
