Google Books lists over 500,000 books for the word chess. I don't know if there are duplicates in there and they appear to be only books in English. But "baseball" returns over 1million books. So, who knows.

Isn't that a count of books containing the word "chess"?

Just because a book does Not have the word "chess" in the title does Not mean it is not about chess.

I wrote 3 chess books and none have the word "chess" in the title.

My guess would be about 240,000 books have been written having to do with chess.

If you use the advanced search    subject:"chess" it returns about 10,500.
